“Fitch” Rating Agency leaves Armenia's sovereign rating unchanged with “stable” outlook

«Fitch Ratings» International ratings agency has affirmed Armenia's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating at “B+” with a Stable Outlook.

The rating is based on a robust macroeconomic and fiscal policy framework, a credible commitment to reform, as well as strong per-capita income, governance and business environment indicators relative to peers. At the same time, in parallel with the mentioned positive circumstances, the agency singled out the factors of high public foreign-currency debt, relatively weak external finances and geopolitical tension.

The Agency has also referred to the 13.2% growth of real GDP in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, driven by the growth of construction, agriculture and services, as well as significant inflow of remittance, at the same time, forecasting 5.5% real GDP growth in 2021.
