The Delegation Led by the RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan Continued the Meetings in Washington DC

Within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, the delegation led by the RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan took part in the discussion dedicated to the countries of Caucasus and Central Asia which was held by the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Tao Zhang. At the core of the discussion were the challenges emerging within the framework of fiscal policy, the IMF-sponsored support tools in that process as well as the prospects for the development of capacity building of responsible institutions.

Minister Vardan Aramyan presented the activities aimed at state debt sustainability, fiscal rules and improvement of tax policy.

During the meeting with the Fiscal Affairs Department, the opportunities and ways of further assistance by the IMF to Armenia in the review of fiscal rules were discussed. An arrangement was reached on providing technical assistance in improvement of tax policy, particularly, in property taxation by the IMF.

Minister Vardan Aramyan also participated in the Dutch Constituency meetings, in which Armenia is included as well. It was also touched upon the assistance by the Constituency to the World Bank's 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the World Bank's new environmental and social policy, and the World Bank development and education report. The work in the framework of the Constituency was also summarized and it was noted that the next Constituency meeting will be held in Croatia.

At the end of the meeting, the Armenian side was thanked for the previous meeting organized in Dilijan as well.
