Protocol amending the Convention of 12 June 2006 between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital is signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation

Today, on November 12, the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan and the Charge d'Affaires of the Swiss Confederation in Armenia Stefan Kloetzli signed Protocol amending the Convention of 12 June 2006 between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital.

The Protocol stipulates that the dividends will be taxed at a preferential rate, in particular, it is planned to increase the participation threshold for the application of the preferential rate of dividend taxation from 25 to 50 percent and to reduce the dividend tax rate by setting 0 and 5 percent, respectively, in case of ensuring investments.  

At the end of the event, Minister Khachatryan evaluated the joint program implemented with the Swiss Confederation as effective, the cooperation with Armenia and expressed readiness to deepen it.

In his turn, Stefan Kloetzli noted that Armenia and Switzerland have long-term diplomatic relations, in the framework of which numerous joint initiatives have been implemented. He welcomed the measures taken by the RA Government to improve the business environment and promote private investment in the current economic situation.
