The International Monetary Fund has approved a new 36-month Stand-By Arrangement for Armenia worth 128.8 million SDR (approximately 175 million USD).
The statement published by the IMF notes that in recent years Armenia has successfully overcome numerous challenges while maintaining macroeconomic and financial stability. The new Reserve Program is aimed at supporting the continuation of the Government's reform agenda to promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
The report also referred to the 2026 State Budget, which clearly defines Armenia's priority spending needs, including in the areas of social protection, healthcare, and education.
In the medium term, prudent expenditure prioritization and effective tax policies will continue to support gradual fiscal consolidation to keep debt at manageable and sustainable levels.
