Grigor Jaghetyan

Grigor Jaghetyan (1885-1938) was born in Ijevan. He was a financier, public-state, political figure, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun). He graduated from Nersisyan School in Tiflis and the Leipzig University in 1909. He was a financier in the Transcaucasian Seim. He was an Acting Minister of Finance (May 1919), then – a Minister (July-August 1919), State Supervisor (December 1919 - September 1920) of Alexander Khatisyan’s Government in the years of the First Republic. After the establishment of Bolshevik authority in Armenia, he left for Persia. Jaghetyan returned to the homeland in 1922 and was the manager of the state bank.
