On November 23, a meeting with the students of the Faculty of Law of the RA Police Educational Complex Academy took place at the RA Ministry of Finance. The meeting was attended by the Head of Public Debt Management Department Arshaluys Margaryan and the Adviser to the Head of Budget Expenditures Financial Programming Department Zhora Asatryan. The details of the development and effective use of mechanisms of public debt management; the details of budgetary and other processes and the experience of other countries in the sphere of public debt management were presented.
To the students’ question whether Armenia is among the countries with high public debt, Arshaluys Margaryan clarified that Armenia is among the countries with low debt burden and underlined that newly independent Armenia had never had an unpaid foreign debt.
The meeting was held in the format of questions and answers.
The students thanked for the effective discussion and an arrangement was reached to organize such kind of meetings in the future as well.
