The 2024 Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank are currently underway in Washington, D.C., USA. Representing Armenia as the Alternate Governor on the Boards of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank, Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan is participating in the meetings.
The Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank serve as a unique platform where representatives from various countries and international financial institutions have the opportunity to discuss global agenda issues and explore prospects for deepening bilateral partnerships.
On the first day of the visit, Deputy Minister Eduard Hakobyan held meetings with the Executive Director representing Armenia at the IMF Executive Board, as well as with the leadership of the IMF Fiscal Affairs Department and the IMF Institute for Capacity Development. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation with the IMF, including through the engagement of technical assistance aimed at capacity building.
Separate meetings were also held with representatives of the International Finance Corporation, the European Investment Bank, the Ministry of Finance of Japan, and the U.S. Treasury. These meetings addressed the current status and potential for development of bilateral cooperation.
