In 2017, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Finance of Armenia and the Ministry of Finance of Russia, in the framework of which Russia has undertaken to provide scientific-methodological and technical assistance to the RA Ministry of Finance in the field of public finance management for three years.
Within the three-year activity of the agreement, a total of 33 international and 56 educational seminars were held and many employees of the RA Ministry of Finance have developed their skills.
As a result of joint activities, the draft laws regulating the financial and economic sphere have been developed, changes have been made in the Tax Code, in the spheres of concept of reforms of international tax collection and digital economy and etc.
"The joint activities in different formats on intellectual platforms - seminars, educational programs, conferences, round tables - bring the partners of the two countries even closer. They are doing their best to find necessary solutions to the problems in the field of public finance management”,- says Armen Gevorgyan, adviser to the RA Minister of Finance, summing up the first three-year program of cooperation.
Taking into account the positive results of the Program, the Ministries of Finance of both countries signed a new agreement in 2019 on the basis of which the second three-year program has been continuing since 2020.
