On June 3, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the delegation headed by Shixin Chen, Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the two main directions of cooperation between Armenia and the ADB - budgetary assistance programs and targeted loans, as well as efficient management of public finances.
Atom Janjughazyan noted that the fiscal rules currently introduced in Armenia give the opportunity to manage the risks, as well as promote the development of the economy. The Minister highly appreciated ADB's role in ensuring Armenia's economic stability and implementation of the Government's reforms.
According to Shixin Chen, improving Armenia's current fiscal situation is impressive, and the ADB is ready to support Armenia within the framework of forthcoming reforms. He expressed hope that such cooperation between Armenia and ADB would be a model for other countries as well.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues related to debt sustainability, infrastructure development, and other priorities.
