On June 25, a delegation from the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, led by Deputy Minister Eduard Hakobyan, took part in the annual forum entitled “Promoting Stability and Equality”, organized by the OPEC Fund for International Development in Vienna (Republic of Austria).
During the forum, senior government representatives and government officials, as well as experienced international experts in the field, discussed current economic challenges and opportunities for achieving sustainable development. In this context, three development paths were addressed: strengthening institutions, introducing innovations in infrastructure and developing human capital.
During the panel discussion “Unlocking the Power of Human Potential”, Eduard Hakobyan acted as a speaker. In his speech, the Deputy Minister touched upon the priorities of Armenia in the field of human capital, as well as the efforts undertaken by the Government of Armenia in cooperation with international structures towards the development of the sphere.
During the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia met with OPEC Vice President Shaimaa Al-Sheiby. The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the OPEC Fund in the field of budgetary assistance for the current and subsequent years, as well as the issue of possible co-financing from the Fund as part of the construction of the Kajaran tunnel.
Discussions were also held with other senior representatives of the OPEC fund and other international partners.
