On May 16, the 33rd annual meeting and business forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) continued in Yerevan.
The third day of the forum began with a meeting between the Minister of Finance of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan and the delegation of the French Development Agency (AFD) led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies and the Deputy Director General of the agency Bertrand Walckenaer.
The parties discussed the current loan agreement for budget support, prospects for implementing cooperation programs in the water, land, agricultural sectors and other issues.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for 2024-2027 was signed. On the Armenian side, the memorandum was signed by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan, on the part of the French Development Agency - by the agency's Deputy General Director Bertrand Walckenaer.
The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan held a meeting with the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) delegation. Issues related to bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of infrastructure, were discussed.
Minister Hovhannisyan also met with the delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The parties discussed issues related to the current cooperation between the two ministries. Minister Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the support of the Dutch government within the framework of the Global Benefits Fund, in particular, aimed at solving the problems forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh. Dutch Finance Minister Steven van Weyenberg, in turn, appreciated the high-level organization of the EBRD Annual meeting.
Hovhannisyan held a meeting with the US delegation, headed by United States Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Markets Alexia Latortue. The parties discussed cooperation in the field of public finance management, public procurement and other issues.
