Pursuant to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Soren Langhoff, an expert from the IMF's Department of Fiscal Affairs, visited the Ministry of Finance from August 1 to 11. This visit is part of the IMF's technical assistance in designing and developing the Government's Finance Management Information System (FMIS).
Soren Langoff met with Armen Gevorgyan, coordinator of the implementation of the digitalization sector at the Ministry of Finance, particularly at the implementation of the Government’s Finance Management Information System, advisor to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia.
The international expert was given a comprehensive presentation of the progress made in the implementation of the GFMIS. Additionally, relevant project documents and reports were provided to the expert.
The content and structure of the technical assignment project for software acquisition were thoroughly discussed, along with a comprehensive examination of potential challenges and risks associated with the software implementation process.
The IMF expert had meetings with the main stakeholders of the GFMIS project, the heads of relevant departments of the RA Ministry of Finance involved in the process of developing the GFMIS, as well as representatives of other state bodies (State Revenue Committee, Civil Service Office).
At the conclusion of the mission, the IMF expert met with the RA Minister of Finance, Vahe Hovhannisyan, to provide a summary of his impressions regarding the implemented processes and offer relevant advice.
