Levon Barkhudaryan was born on April 6, 1958, in Yerevan. In 1975, he graduated from the secondary school N 118 in Yerevan. In 1980, he graduated from Yerevan Institute of National Economy, receiving the qualification of an economist-mathematician. In 1980-1981, Barkhudaryan served in the soviet army. In 1981-1985, he was a post-graduate student of the Central Economic-Mathematical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1985, he was awarded a PhD degree in economics. In 1985-1990, he worked as a junior researcher, researcher and senior researcher at the Institute of Economics of the ASSR Academy of Sciences. In 1990-1992, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the State Economic Committee of the Republic of Armenia; in 1992-1993 - as the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. In 1993-1997, Barkhudaryan was appointed as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia. In May-September 1997, he was appointed as the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Armenia; in 1997-1999 - as the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, 1999-2000 - Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Armenia. 2013, Levon Barkhudaryan was awarded by RA Prime Minister's Commemorative Medal.
