On June 13, the First Deputy Minister of Finance Karen Brutyan met with the delegation headed by Tanya Radocha, representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Armenia.
During the meeting the parties touched upon the current issues of cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the UNICEF and highlighted the possibilities of its development.
Tanya Radocha noted that although the Fund is a non-traditional partner for the Ministry of Finance as it commonly carries out its activities in the spheres of health, education and social protection, its cooperation with the Ministry is still of paramount importance.
Karen Brutyan underlined that coordinated work with the line ministries and effective cooperation with the UNICEF would create additional incentives for better living standards for children of Armenia.
In this context an agreement was reached to invite an Argentinean expert to Armenia to share experiences. It is also planned that in the near future when designing the budget the child-related issues would be taken into consideration as much as possible, based on the results of the previous year's budget performance analysis.
