Priorities of cooperation between Armenia and EBRD were discussed

On September 7, RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan received Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, EBRD Regional Director of Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus and Dmitry Gvindadze, Head of EBRD in Armenia.

Welcoming the guests, the Minister noted that EBRD is one of the most important partners for Armenia which is due not only to the financial component of the cooperation, but also to the philosophy that the organization brings to Armenia, thus contributing to the private and public sector development. As the Minister mentioned, the level of cooperation with EBRD is quite high, and there are necessary preconditions to advance and effectively implement all joint projects and ideas. Tigran Khachatryan highlighted the implementation of regional infrastructure projects in cooperation with EBRD and emphasized the significance of steps promoting the capital market development in Armenia.

The EBRD representative, thanking for the reception and warm words, congratulated the Minister on assuming the post, as well as on the achievements of the RA Government, and also expressed the EBRD's readiness to be part of and contribute to the further development of Armenia.

The sides exchanged views on key areas of cooperation, in particular, infrastructure projects and their perspectives. Both sides stressed the importance of macroeconomic stability in Armenia, in terms of having a favorable investment environment.
