On February 8, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia H.E. Mrs. Lynn Tracy.
Highly appreciating the level of bilateral cooperation, the Minister referred to the situation caused by the epidemic and the war, noting that Armenia has managed to maintain macro-financial stability despite the crisis conditions. In particular, the Minister emphasized the role of state institutions and the continuous capacity building in addressing the current challenges.
Referring to the Ambassador's question on financial and economic challenges, the Minister emphasized that in that context the main goals of the Government are reflected in the Public Finance Management (PFM) System Reform Strategy for 2019-2023. The Minister also stressed the importance of joint efforts of the Armenian and American sides to meet the challenges.
At the same time, the USAID involvement in supporting the implementation of the PFM strategy was highly appreciated. The Minister noted that the vision of promoting export-based economic growth is a key factor for the Armenian side, which should be aimed at ensuring inclusive growth, covering all spheres.
The Ambassador, in her turn, singled out the spheres of public-private partnership, public investment management, public procurement, noting that the American side is interested in providing assistance in the mentioned directions.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to deepen cooperation in all the referred areas.
