The delegation of the RA Ministry of Finance is participating in the inaugural workshop of the regional network on macro-fiscal issues formed by the International Monetary Fund from February 26 to 27 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Representatives and specialists from the management staff of the ministries of finance and economy of the Caucasus, Central Asian countries, and Mongolia, along with IMF management staff, are present at the workshop. Discussions cover topics such as fiscal developments and challenges in the region, macro-fiscal analyses and forecasts, organizational experiences in ministries of finance and economy, IMF approaches, fiscal risk assessment and management experiences in participating countries, and technical assistance opportunities offered by the IMF in this direction.
During the workshop, RA Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan delivered speeches and presented the main works carried out in the direction of RA fiscal policy. He discussed the system of macroeconomic forecasts, policy analysis, and development prospects, as well as scenario forecasts and macro-fiscal risk assessment tools and approaches. Additionally, he shared insights on debt stability assessment, fiscal rules, and exchanged thoughts on current macroeconomic and fiscal challenges in Armenia.
