On April 11, within the framework of the spring meetings 2023 of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, the Armenian delegation had meetings with IMF Deputy Governor Bo Lee, the Department of Fiscal Affairs of the IMF, as well as other high-ranking officials of the International Finance Corporation and the WB.
During the meetings with the IMF, the partners were presented with the macroeconomic situation of Armenia, the results of the first review of the Reserve Program were discussed, as well as possible new directions of technical assistance provided to Armenia.
A meeting was also held with partners of the International Financial Corporation, during which issues related to current cooperation were discussed. The IFC highly appreciated Armenia's subscription to the replenishment of the IFC's general capital and elective capital within the specified time limits.
The World Bank partners introduced the Emergency Contingent Disbursement Tool, which enables member states in situations of natural disasters and health problems to receive flexible loans from the IDB to mitigate the effects of disasters. Romania's experience of using the mentioned instrument was also presented.
