From July 10 to 12, the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan participated in the meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) Constituency covering Armenia in Chisinau (Moldova) as the Deputy Governor of Armenia in the Boards of Governors of the IMF and WB.
At the Constituency meetings, high-ranking representatives of the institutions responsible for the fiscal and monetary policy of the member countries of the Constituency have discussions on the priorities and programs of the policies of the IMF and the WB, as well as on the key issues and challenges of the world economy.
This year the theme of the meeting was " Ensuring Vigorous Growth in a Volatile and Uncertain Environment”. Thematic panel discussions were held on strategies for mobilizing private capital, innovations, possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Within the framework of the event, Eduard Hakobyan had a meeting with Antonella Bassani is Vice President of the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank. With the latter, in particular, issues of agenda programs with the WB in the water, energy, social sectors, including budgetary support, were discussed.
A separate meeting was also held with Jasper Wesseling, Chief Treasurer of the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. A number of key issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the implementation of the current program of exchange of experience between the ministries of finance, as well as new prospects for further cooperation.
