The RA First Deputy Minister of Finance Karen Brutyan Met with the Representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations

On June 1, a meeting with the representatives of non-governmental organizations headed by the First Deputy Minister Karen Brutyan took place at the RA Ministry of Finance.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the key directions of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project and possible ways of cooperation. The Project focuses on the monitoring of public budgets and policies, development of argumentative policies, creation and development of coalitions, as well as constructive participation in public policy-making, dialogue with the Government and local self-governments.

According to First Deputy Minister of Finance Karen Brutyan, such meetings need to be developed in a competent working format, ensuring the involvement of NGOs in the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry.

"The RA Ministry of Finance, as a body implementing policy in public financial sector, is ready to cooperate with you in the framework of its functions and set a quick response scheme for the issues of discussion, to make the discussions more active and constructive", - said Karen Brutyan.

Hakob Avagyan, President of the "SME Cooperation Association" NGO, highlighted the importance of creating such a platform for raising the role of non-governmental organizations in the process of making important decisions for the country.

According to him, this Project is aimed at strengthening civil society organizations-Government dialogue and tends to increase the impact of public opinion on policy-making in different areas.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to make such discussions periodic, with a view to ensuring better implementation of programs and control over processes.
