During his working visit to the United States the RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan met with Julie Monaco, the Managing Director and Global Head of Citi’s Public Sector Group in the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group.
While presenting Armenia's overall economic and political situation, Minister Hovhannisyan discussed the investment attraction process. He specifically talked about the National Center for Investment Support and noted that efforts are planned to develop the center's capabilities in the near future. The sides also discussed Armenia's rapidly developing IT sector and organizations with significant potential in the sector.
In the context of attracting investments from the diaspora, the Minister emphasized that active efforts will be made to strengthen cooperation with the diaspora and attract investments.
At the end of the meeting, Monaco addressed the potential for cooperation with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) to attract investments. The sides exchanged views on possible steps to promote investments in Armenia with the support of BCIU and agreed to continue the dialogue on implementing this cooperation.
