On September 4, the RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan received the delegation led by the first vice president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jürgen Rigterink. EBRD Eastern Europe and Caucasus Managing Director Matteo Patrone, EBRD Caucasus Regional Director Alkis Drakinos, EBRD Uzbekistan Office Head Katarina Hansen, as well as EBRD Armenia Office Head George Akhalkatsi were also present at the meeting.
Minister Hovhannisyan, welcoming the guests, noted that cooperation with EBRD is of key importance for Armenia. The minister specially emphasized the important role of EBRD in the modernization of RA infrastructures. He also highlighted issues related to the implementation of existing programs, emphasizing the need for their timely and proper execution.
The EBRD Vice President also discussed ongoing programs, concurring on the importance of implementing them within the specified time frame. Both parties also addressed the upcoming EBRD annual meeting scheduled to be held in Yerevan next year, emphasizing the need for thorough preparations. Minister Hovhannisyan underscored Armenia's commitment to ensuring the success of this unprecedented event.
Both sides are willing to join efforts in all directions of cooperation to achieve the desired results.
