The RA National Assembly Approved 2017 Budget Execution

The RA National Assembly adopted the “Annual Report of the State Budget Execution of the Republic of Armenia for 2017” with 65 votes in favour and 23 votes against.

It was envisaged to have 3.2 percent economic growth for 2017, but expectations have been exceeded, and by the end of the year it made 7.5 percent.

In the reporting year, the average inflation rate was 1 percent, the average monthly salary amounted to AMD 195 074, the unemployment rate dropped by 0.2 percent and comprised  17.8 percent, exports increased by 22.1 percent and imports - by 28.8 percent.

The program indicator for revenues was forecasted to be AMD 1 trillion 210 billion, the adjusted index was AMD 1 trillion 320.9 billion, the actual performance - AMD 1 trillion 237,8 million.

The expenditure was planned at AMD 1 trillion 360.1 billion, with the adjusted plan - AMD 1 trillion 561 billion, and actually amounted to AMD 1 trillion 504.8 billion: 27.2 percent was allocated for social expenditures.

The deficit was planned at AMD 150 billion, with the adjusted plan – AMD 240.2 billion, the actual deficit was AMD 267 billion, which was funded from domestic and foreign sources.

The state debt of Armenia at the end of 2017 was USD 6 billion 775 million, of which the debt of the RA Government made USD 6 billion 173 million. According to RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan, Armenia is still among the countries with low debt burden.
