The XV Sitting of the EEC Tax Policy and Administration Advisory Committee was Held

The XV Sitting of the Tax Policy and Administration Advisory Committee under the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was held at the RA Ministry of Finance.

The Sitting discussed the possibilities of simplifying the indirect taxation calculation and payment procedures in the process of organization of mutual trade within the EAEU member states, as well as the principles, procedures for VAT collection in the case of electronic services.

According to Arman Poghosyan, RA Deputy Minister of Finance, among other issues, opportunities for introducing more flexible, more affordable procedures that will enable our business circles to perform tax accounting with simple rules, saving both time and resources, are assessed during the discussion.

During the meeting, it was also referred to the possibilities of mutual assistance between the tax authorities of the member states and the development of tools of cooperation, which are mainly aimed at ensuring a new level of cooperation between the tax authorities. “As a host country, we have formulated our agenda items in order to create a more favourable environment for our economic entities and citizens, simplify tax accounting rules, and reduce the time spent on the process”, - Poghosyan said.

According to Timur Zhaksylykov, Minister of Economy and Financial Policy of the EES Board chairing the Sitting, the meeting covers a wide range of tax issues. “Such meetings allow an in-depth study of the changes in the tax policy of the EAEU member states, stimulate exchange of experience and development of the business sector”, - said Zhaksylykov.
