On January 30, the RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan received the Delegation of Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission lead by Vassilis Maragos, Head of Unit of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Eastern Partnership, EC DG NEAR. The parties touched upon the activities carried out within the framework of the cooperation during the previous year, outlined the future plans and discussed the approaches to their implementation. Minister Vardan Aramyan highlighted the development of effective partnership between the sides: “We are constantly trying to achieve maximum results through our systematic and consistent work and highly appreciate the role of cooperation with you in this matter”, - said Vardan Aramyan.
Vassilis Maragos noted in his turn that it is important to maintain and further deepen the active dialogue between the parties: “We are ready to support Armenia in terms of both private sector promotion and general investments. It is necessary to assess the current situation and set priorities by adopting a realistic and transparent working style”, - he underlined.
At the end of the meeting, the sides summed up the results of the discussion and reached an agreement on the further steps of bilateral cooperation.
