On February 25, 2022, the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan delivered a welcoming speech at the event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank.
The full speech of the Minister is presented below:
“Distinguished representatives of the Asian Development Bank, dear participants,
allow me to congratulate heartily, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and on my behalf, for the 15th anniversary of the partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank. Since the establishment of the partnership, the Asian Development Bank has assumed a key role for Armenia as a reliable and faithful partner, the result of which is the strong and effective interaction established over the years. The Asian Development Bank has provided support to Armenia in key directions, such as sustainable urban development, road construction, energy sector development, public financial management, etc. over many years Cooperation in the framework of the budget support programs is of particular importance. In this context, I would like to stress that, through various support tools, the Asian Development Bank, has continuously assisted and today it continues to assist the reform agenda implemented by the RA Government, due to which currently we have an active cooperation portfolio and a number of already implemented successful programs.
I wish to extend very special thanks for the assistance provided by the ADB through 2020, which was crucial for both Armenia and other member states in terms of combatting the severe consequences of “COVID-19” pandemic. This actually proved the commitment of the ADB to be at side of Armenia in stable and emergency situations. I am happy to state that we were able to stabilize the situation and return to our pace of development that allows us to discuss ambitious reform programs.
I would also like to highlight the assistance provided to Armenia through ADB technical assistance tools, as such tools enable the transfer of knowledge and experience leading to capacity improvement and development of the beneficiary circles.
Availing of this opportunity, let me once again congratulate all of us on this significant day, wishing even more fruitful work and further achievements.
