The RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Lynne M. Tracy.
The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment and highly appreciated the partnership relations between the two countries. He presented to the Ambassador the priorities and the reform agenda defined by the RA Government Program. Minister Janjughazyan noted that in this context, the Ministry has a function of maintaining balance and ensuring financial discipline, which will give maximum results for the resources spent.
During the meeting the parties touched upon the fiscal rules, the changes in the tax system, the stabilization of public debt, the macroeconomic risk management through monetary and fiscal policies, and the successful negotiation process with the International Monetary Fund. In regard to the latter, the Ambassador emphasized that this will contribute to strengthening the trust of the international financial community towards Armenia.
The preconditions for the creation of favourable investment and business environment in the country and the expansion of Armenian-American cooperation in this direction were also discussed.
