On 1 December 2021, the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan received Ivana Fernandez Duarte, Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation, Head of the IFC Armenia Office Arman Barkhudaryan, and the IFC "Economic Growth in Armenia" Project Manager Arsen Nazaryan.
Welcoming the guests, Minister Khachatryan highly appreciated the involvement of the International Finance Corporation in the investment programs implemented in Armenia. The Minister singled out the development of the capital market, programs implemented with the private sector, alternative energy, public-private partnership, SME development and the field of high technologies as key directions.
Ivana Fernandez Duarte thanked the Minister for the reception and noted that this is her first visit to Armenia in this position, and the formats for possible IFC involvement in reforms outlined by the government are currently being discussed.
Mrs. Duarte also highlighted the cooperation with the RA Government, noting that IFC prioritizes steps to simplify the regulation of the financial sector, sustainable energy and investment climate in Armenia.
During the meeting the participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the process and prospects of cooperation between the RA Government and the International Finance Corporation.
