Budgetary Debates Continue at the RA NA Standing Committees

On November 6, at the joint session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the RA Draft Law “On the RA State Budget for 2018” was debated. The RA NA deputies, the RA Ministers, those responsible for the sphere and other invitees took part in the discussion.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan presented the financial indices envisaged for the spheres of social security and healthcare, and the RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan and the RA Minister of Healthcare Levon Altunyan presented the policy being implemented in the spheres led by them and talked about the upcoming programmes and the works to be done.

According to Atom Janjughazyan, it is planned to allocate AMD 408.7 billion to the sphere of social protection in the next year, which is less than the current year's index by 362 million drams. In particular, AMD 236 billion will be allocated for the implementation of the program of pension provision and AMD 78.6 billion – for the payment of allowances.

On the same day, at the joint session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and on Financial-Credit Budgetary Affairs, the RA Draft Law “On the RA State Budget for 2018” was discussed. Atom Janjughazyan presented the financial means to be allocated to the above-mentioned spheres; the heads of the spheres submitted the programmes to be implemented.

Until November 9, at 18:00 at the Standing Committees of the RA National Assembly the debates of the RA Draft Law “On the RA State Budget for 2018” will be summed up. The NA deputies, the factions and the Standing Committees will submit the recommendations in written form on the RA Draft Law “On the RA State Budget for 2018” to the NA Staff.
