The Discussions of the Annual Report on the Execution of the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2017 Launched

Since May 29, the discussions of the Annual Report on the Execution of the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2017 launched at the Standing Committees of the National Assembly.

Presenting the budget performance, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan noted that instead of the expected 3.2 percent in 2017, 7.5 percent real economic growth was recorded. The services sector contributed to this growth by 5.1 percent, the industry - by 1.5 percent, the construction - by 0.2 percentage points; the agricultural sector had a negative impact on the growth of 0.6 percentage points.

The average inflation rate was 1 percent, the GDP deflator - 2.2 percent.

“The initial indicators in terms of revenues have been approved in the amount of AMD 1 trillion 210 billion, and the Government has approved revenue of AMD 35.2 billion for extra-budgetary means”, - said the Minister. He assured that tax revenues had a great deal in overall revenues, which amounted to AMD 1 trillion 158 billion. The initial program was approved by AMD 1 trillion 135 billion.

The expenditures were planned to be AMD 1 trillion 360.1 billion, with an adjusted plan - AMD 1 trillion 561 billion, and amounted to AMD 1 trillion 504.8 billion.

The deficit was planned to be AMD 150 billion, with an adjusted plan it was AMD 240.2 billion, the actual deficit comprised AMD 267 billion.

By the end of 2017, Armenia's public debt amounted to USD 6 billion 775 million, with the Government's share of USD 6 billion 173 million.

According to Minister Janjughazyan, the external debt of the Government amounted to USD 4 billion 893 billion, and the rest made the Government's internal debt.

“By the general indicators characterizing debt burden, Armenia is considered to be a country with a low debt burden”, - stated Atom Janjughazyan.
