The RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan hosted the newly appointed director of French Development Agency's regional office in the South Caucasus Fanny Delpey. French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Olivier Decottignies was also present at the meeting.
Congratulating Fanny Delpey on assuming the new position, the minister expressed hope that under her leadership, effective cooperation with the French Development Agency would be further expanded, aiming to achieve jointly defined targets. He also noted that Armenian-French relations have entered a new phase of development.
Fanny Delpey expressed her gratitude for the reception and reiterated her commitment to supporting Armenia. The focus has been on highlighting collaboration in financing projects related to energy, irrigation and water infrastructures, as well as road construction. As a key direction of cooperation, budgetary support was also emphasized. Emphasizing the effective implementation of current programs, the parties also referred to possible new directions of cooperation. In addressing the humanitarian situation arising from recent developments in Nagorno-Karabakh, the French side has conveyed its readiness to aid in addressing the social challenges faced by individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, utilizing various forms of support.
Minister Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude to the French side for their continuous support, especially for the appropriate response to the current security and humanitarian situation, and for all the efforts made in that direction.
