On March 6, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan met with Jacob Reichert Todor Frederiks, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia.
Minister Hovhannisyan first congratulated Ambassador Frederiks on assuming office, expressing satisfaction with the high-level cooperation between the RA Ministry of Finance and the Dutch side. This collaboration is particularly evident within the partnership groups of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, both led by the Netherlands and representing Armenia on their boards of governors. Ongoing cooperation was highlighted under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministries of Finance of both countries for experience exchange and capacity building.
The Minister praised the Dutch side's special approach to supporting solutions for people displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and stressed the importance of continued cooperation in this regard.
The meeting covered various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including discussions on the upcoming annual meeting of the EBRD in Yerevan from May 14-16. The Dutch side expressed readiness to support the process if needed, and a preliminary agreement was reached to organize a meeting between representatives of the ministries of finance of both countries.
Both parties agreed to continue their joint efforts in implementing the agreements reached.
