On September 3, the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan received H.E. Mr. John Gallagher, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting the parties discussed the RA Government program for 2021-2026, the peculiarities of the RA external debt and debt management, as well as the introduction of public finance management system and the reform strategy. It was highlighted that currently Armenia is doing its best to create a favorable, predictable and stable environment for foreign investors.
Congratulating the Minister on his appointment and wishing him fruitful work in his new position, the Ambassador mentioned that the United Kingdom closely follows and appreciates the reforms implemented by the Government of Armenia.
In his turn, the Minister wished the Ambassador fruitful work for the benefit of the development of friendly relations between the two countries. Referring to the sectoral cooperation, Minister Khachatryan attached special importance to the continuous support of the British Government in the formation of the institutional environment in Armenia, as well as the significance of exchanging experience in the field of public finance management.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted the opportunities for expanding cooperation, as well as agreed to continue the dialogue related to the issues on the agenda.
